Information freedom - Whom can you really trust?

Information freedom – Whom can you really trust?

The group “Anonymous” stands for “Freedom of speech”. They started the group because they wanted more freedom and to make sure that the government wasn’t spying on them or lying about the truth. The government wasn’t really lying but sort of, because they were hiding top secret information.
There was a operation called “Operation Payback” which started with Anonymous attacking Anti-Piracy websites. Later on, Wikileaks was leaking top secret government information, including top secret war videos showing civilians getting killed. Julian Assange was the founder of the Wikileaks website.
Hiding the information from us, the people, is not a good thing. We definitely have the right to know everything. Why would they get to know it but not us? The government is manipulating us so that we don’t get to know the truth that really should’ve been given to us. The newspapers, TV and the Internet are not lying but they are definitely hiding information.
Some countries doesn’t have free internet, so they censor it. That’s for example, Egypt, Iran and North Korea. I don’t think that’s really right.

When America was hiding videos where they were shooting unarmed civilians, they broke against so many laws and rules. By hiding secret videos like that, they show that they’re not brave and cannot stand to the truth. That’s why Wikileaks did such a great move by exposing and leaking all this information so that we, the people, got to know about it. This was the end of my essay.

  1. Hej Jesper,

Bra jobbat!

    Angela.
