Charlie and The Chocolate Factory

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
This is an essay about the movie and book: Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. I’m pretty much going to write about what differences there is between the movie and book.
I don’t really know what time the movie is based in because there were a lot of things mixing it all up. For example: Mike Teavee is playing videogames so therefore it should be set in the late 80’s or early 90’s. Also, when Charlie is in the shop where he buys the chocolate bar, the shop looks like if it was set in the 40’s or 50’s. One other thing is that there was a Volvo 740 which was driving around at one point, and those were made in late 80’s- early 90’s. So as I said, it’s a mix.  Willy Wonka is a bit more colorful than in the book. In the book, Charlie found 50 pence instead of 10 dollars like in the movie. In the movie, there is a person narrating through the movie. You’ll see in the end of the movie who that person is. In the book though, there’s a third person narrator, which you’ll never see or know anything about. But we do know that the narrator is on Charlie’s side, at least. Where the kids are from, isn’t that mixed up. 2 of the children are from America so it’s not that mixed. Also, Willy Wonka’s father’s part, where Willy reunites with him, wasn’t really in the book.

This was my essay about the movie and book: Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Let’s simply say that there was quite a lot of differences. I didn’t write about them all but at least some of them.

  1. Hej Jesper,

Du har gjort en bra jämförelse mellan filmen och boken. Du visar även att du har lyssnat på mina genomgångar eftersom en del av det som du har tagit upp i din reflektion är saker jag har gått igenom på lektionen. Bra jobbat.
